As at 2017, it was reported that over 10.5 million children in Nigeria are out of school, this represents the 'largest number of children out-of-school' in the world. This statistics reignites the pain and passion in our hearts, we can beat this menace and recreate a flourishing community where every child has living hope and access to quality education irrespective of her background.

The organization is set deliberately to deliver her vision of creating a community where education is afforded and availed indigents, one in which the major hindrance (POVERTY) against access to quality education is abolished and totally expunged. we live and work to see this dream fulfilled.

It is with this force that the Non- Profit Organization has set out to offer scholarships to five (5) students of the Oke ose community secondary school. This laudable event was carried out on Thursday, 12th of July at the school hall where all the students, teachers and administrators were gathered to grace the occasion and discover the lucky ones who were selected from the carefully analyzed questionnaires earlier administered to all the senior students during the previous seminar and test held in the school. The Scholarships cover for the 2018/2019 academic session therefore availing the students opportunities to prepare well for the year ahead and becoming a better them.

The awardees include (L-R): Abdulrafiu Sherifat (SS1), Magaji Zainab (SS1), Alao Muyideen (SS1), Yunus Majeed (SS2), Aruna Muyibi (SS2).

The selection was based on these two important pointers for the choice of our beneficiaries in tandem with our mission; Level of indigence and clarity of ambition. This is in a bid to award the scholarships to only the most promising indigent students.

It is worthy of note to share this inspiring story that occurred during the event. As soon as one of the awardees was announced (Aruna Muyibi), the students exclaimed in hurt, with 'Eeyah' an exclamation of sympathy filling the air, we asked what the reason was only to discover that the said student had already been sent home for defaulting payment of the current term's fee therefore missing the ongoing termly examination. We sent for the boy who came running sweatily when he got the news, the hall suddenly experienced a very emotional atmosphere as everyone was glad at the turn around of things. The boy promised almost weepingly to strive to become great in life, this is the height of our joy for the day so much that an instant effect of our work has been felt.

The relevances of the project include but are not limited to the following;

I. Expunging poverty and creating better opportunities for the students' academic pursuits

II. To relieve the families of the burden of payment of tuition fees

III. To further create room for advocacy towards improved academic standards

IV. To help keep alive the hopes of the future both for the families and the community in general as education is the major driving force for innovations.

V. To make education a right for all children

It is utmostly necessary to appreciate each and every of our sponsors who have made this possible, without your contributions and support, the project could have remained insurmountable. At the Yattiyr Scholarship Initiative we believe that there is so much that can be achieved collectively, greatness is only a stone's throw away provided we can sacrificially put our 'littles' together. Thank you.
